A Single Cylinder, Standing Tall

The Odyssey 1 Floor Lamp takes the elongated opal mat glass cylinder from the Odyssey pendant range and sets it on top of a slender, height-adjustable brass stem rising from a weighted circular base. At a maximum height of around 154.7cm, it is a genuine floor lamp rather than a tall table lamp, designed to cast a warm, focused pool of light exactly where a reading chair or sofa end needs it.

Choose Your Finish

The stem and base are available in Black Gunmetal, a dark matte finish, Lacquered Burnished Brass, the warm natural tone of brass under a protective lacquer, or Polished Nickel, a cooler and more reflective option. The opal mat glass shade at the top is identical whichever finish is chosen.

How It Works

Takes 1x E14 LED bulb, 5W, around 450 to 500 lumens at 3000K warm white, not included. The stem height adjusts up to a maximum of approximately 154.7cm, standing on a base 31.3cm in diameter and 4.5cm tall. The glass shade at the top measures 10cm across and 30cm tall. The complete lamp weighs 12.3kg, giving it a stable, low centre of gravity for its height. As a plug in floor lamp it does not require electrical installation, though we recommend checking the cable and plug periodically.

Where It Works Best

Position it beside a reading chair, at the end of a sofa, or in a bedroom corner where a single, directed source of warm light is more useful than an overhead fitting. Its slim stem means it does not take up much visual space in a room, so it suits smaller sitting rooms as easily as larger ones.

Made by Schwung

Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. The Odyssey 1 Floor Lamp uses the same single opal mat glass cylinder found in the Odyssey Single pendant range, mounted instead on a floor standing brass stem, so the same warm, fully diffused light is available as a freestanding lamp rather than a ceiling fitting.
