A Steady Glow By The Door
This is the single light, medium sized lantern in the Wakefield range, a boxy composite frame around clear seeded glass with a stepped Arts and Crafts roof cap on top. It throws a warm pool of light either side of a front door without the bulk of the larger three light version.
The Earth Black Finish
The frame is finished in a deep matte Earth Black with no shine to it, and the corners are built with a frame within a frame effect, an inner glass surround set back from the outer uprights for a bit of visual depth. The glass panels are clear but seeded, so they carry a light texture rather than sitting perfectly smooth.
How It Works
It takes a single E27 bulb, not supplied. Rated IP44 and made from a weather resistant composite, it is built to handle rain and exposed coastal spots rather than needing a covered porch. It is dimmable with dimmable bulbs fitted, and being Class I it needs an earth connection, so get it wired in by a qualified electrician.
Where It Works Best
At 35.7cm tall this sits in the middle of the Wakefield range, taller and a little heavier than the small single light version at 28cm, and considerably more compact than the large three light lantern at 43.3cm. It suits a standard front door, a side gate, or a pair either side of a garage where the large three light lantern would be too much.
The Abigail Adams Story
