A Diamond That Hangs Rather Than Sits
Take the shade away entirely and what is left is the View Point, an open diamond shaped frame that hangs from a chain rather than the more usual dome or drum. Three exposed candle bulbs sit at its centre, so the light itself becomes part of the shape rather than something hidden inside it.
Two Finishes Working Together
The name on the listing points to brass, but this is really two finishes paired up. The six long struts that form the diamond are painted a soft white wash, made to look like pale, grained wood rather than plain painted metal, while every joint, cap and the central column running through the middle is finished in a warm, slightly aged brass. Photographed lit, the white struts catch the light and the brass holds it, so the two finishes read as a pair rather than one colour with brass trim.
How It Works
Three E14 bulbs are needed, none supplied, sitting exposed at the base of the fitting rather than behind glass. It dims if you fit dimmable E14 lamps, since the fitting carries no dimmer of its own. This is a Class I fitting, which means it needs an earth connection, and being hardwired it should go up with the help of a qualified electrician. It also arrives needing a small amount of simple assembly before it goes on the ceiling.
Where It Works Best
At 48.7cm across, with a minimum drop of 67.1cm and up to 315.2cm at its longest using the full chain supplied, this suits a room with enough ceiling height to let the diamond shape hang clear, over a dining table, in a stairwell, or as a central light in a living room, bedroom or hallway. Because there is no shade covering the bulbs, it throws a more open, sparkling light than an enclosed pendant, which suits a room where you want the fitting itself to be the focal point rather than a discreet source of light.
Family Owned Since 1986
Quoizel has been in the hands of one family for a long stretch of its history. Michael Chaikin founded the company in Manhattan in 1930, and Ira Phillips, who joined in 1964 as Director of Merchandising and Sales, bought the business outright in 1986. It remains privately and family held today, which is part of why a design like the View Point, built more around shape and open space than a traditional shade, can sit in a catalogue that also still lists far more traditional fittings.

Questions People Ask
Does this come with a shade? No, the design is deliberately open, with three E14 bulbs exposed at the centre of the diamond frame rather than covered.
What bulbs do I need? Three E14 bulbs, bought separately. Choose dimmable versions if you want to dim the fitting later.
Does it need much space to hang? It has a minimum drop of 67.1cm and the chain can be adjusted at fitting, so check your ceiling height before ordering if your room has a low ceiling.
