One Shade, Full Glow
Where the Gotham chandelier spreads its light across four shades, this pendant gathers it all under one. A bell shaped brushed brass frame narrows down to a single wide drum shade with a frosted glass diffuser underneath, so the light that reaches the room is softened and even rather than broken into separate pools.
Brushed Brass and a Wide Cream Shade
The frame here is a warm, satin brushed brass, and the shade is a pale cream fabric with a woven texture, banded by two brass rings around its middle. The same pendant is made in Imperial Silver with a black shade instead, a cooler, more graphic option if brass and cream feels too soft for the room. Small crystal ball accents sit where the frame arms meet the shade ring on both versions.
How It Works
Four E27 LED lamps sit behind the diffuser and are not supplied with the fitting. It is dimmable if you fit dimmable E27 bulbs. The pendant is wired to Class I, so it needs an earth connection, and being a hardwired ceiling fitting, it should be installed by a qualified electrician rather than treated as a plug in lamp.
Where It Works Best
The shade measures 58.4cm across and the whole fitting stands 61cm tall, with the chain giving a drop of between 69.9cm and 191.8cm, so it works equally well over a dining table, a kitchen island or as a single statement piece on a landing or stairwell. Against the four shade Gotham chandelier in the same finish, this pendant gives a softer, more diffused spread of light from one source rather than four separate glows.
From Manhattan to the Low Country
Quoizel spent its first decades in Manhattan before moving its headquarters, manufacturing and distribution to a 305,000 square foot facility near Charleston, South Carolina, in 1996. The design studio still works out of that low country setting today, and it shows in the more relaxed, livable edge to newer ranges like Gotham, even where the finishes lean towards a sharper city look.
