Same open ring design as the rest of the Theater Row range, but here the metal is finished in a flat, dark Western Bronze rather than anything shiny, so the ring itself sits back and lets the exposed bulb do the work. In the lifestyle photograph it reads warm and a little industrial, more like an old workshop fitting than a polished showroom piece.

The Western Bronze Finish

Western Bronze here is a true matte, with none of the reflective highlights you would get on the Imperial Silver version of the same design. It suits a kitchen, snug or hallway with warm tones already in the room, since the bronze will blend in rather than stand out the way a bright metal ring would.

How It Works

This is a hardwired wall light, fitted by a qualified electrician. It takes one E27 bulb, not supplied, mounted centrally on a short arm inside the ring. Because there is no shade to hide it, a vintage style filament bulb suits the design better than a plain opal one. Fit a dimmable E27 bulb and it will dim, since there is no dimming module in the fitting itself. It is wired to Class I, so it must be properly earthed.

Where It Works Best

At 25.4cm across and just 10.2cm deep it hugs the wall closely, which is exactly why it works well in a tighter spot such as beside a kitchen shelf or in a narrow hallway, as shown in the lifestyle photograph. Set against its Imperial Silver sibling, this Western Bronze version is the quieter, warmer choice, better suited to a room built around wood and warm neutrals than a cooler, brighter scheme.

Quoizel moved its headquarters, manufacturing and distribution from New York down to a 305,000 square foot facility near Charleston, South Carolina in 1996, and the design studio there still draws on the Low Country around it.
