A Sunburst In Leaded Glass
Rays of amber and honey glass fan out from the centre of this shade like light caught mid burst, bordered by a band of textured copper glass with small squares of soft green breaking up the line. It is genuinely hand leaded, so no two panels sit quite the same, and it throws a warm pool of light downward rather than a bright wash across the ceiling.
The Vintage Bronze Finish
Everything above the glass, the ceiling fixing, the short drop rod and the angular loop that holds the shade, is cast in a Vintage Bronze finish with a soft, aged looking surface rather than a polished shine. A single pull chain hangs below the shade edge to switch the lights, finished in a matching dark tone so it disappears against the glass rather than standing out.
How It Works
This is a hardwired pendant, so it should be fitted by a qualified electrician. It takes three E27 bulbs, which are not supplied, switched together from the pull chain on the shade. Fit dimmable E27 bulbs and it will dim, since the fitting itself carries no dimming module of its own. It is wired to Class I, so the fitting must be properly earthed.
Where It Works Best
The drop chain runs from a minimum of 38.1cm up to a maximum of 182cm, so it will happily hang low over a dining table or run further down a stairwell without looking stretched. At 45.7cm across the shade it is the widest fitting in the Stephen range, considerably bigger than the matching table lamp and wall light, which makes it the piece to choose if you want the glasswork to be the main event in the room rather than a supporting detail.
Ira Phillips And The Family Behind Quoizel
Quoizel was founded in 1930 as a small lamp company in Manhattan. Ira Phillips joined the business in 1964 as Director of Merchandising and Sales and went on to buy the company outright in 1986. It has stayed privately held and family run ever since, through the Chaikin years and into the Phillips family, which is part of why the Tiffany style glasswork the company is known for has stayed a genuine specialism rather than being handed off to a licensing deal.

Questions People Ask
How low can it hang? The chain adjusts from a minimum drop of 38.1cm down to a maximum of 182cm, so it suits both standard and higher ceilings.
What bulbs does it need? Three E27 bulbs, not included. Use dimmable bulbs if you want the pendant to dim, since the fitting itself does not control that.
Does it match the Stephen table lamp and wall light? Yes, all three share the same Vintage Bronze finish and glass pattern, so they can be mixed in the same room.
