The Mixon is a bare bones design, all wire cage and exposed lamp, and Palladian Bronze gives it a deep, almost black finish that leans hard into that raw, workshop look. It is the darkest option in the range and the one that disappears most into a dark ceiling.

Choosing Your Finish

Every Mixon shares the same frame, so the choice between finishes is a choice of mood. Palladian Bronze is dark and matte, a strong contrast against pale walls or exposed brick, and a different proposition entirely to the brighter brushed brass, weathered brass, brushed nickel and polished chrome versions. Choose this one where you want the fitting itself to read as a piece of ironmongery rather than something that catches and bounces light.

How It Works

It fixes as a semi flush ceiling light, sitting close against the ceiling rather than dropping down like a pendant. A single E27 lamp goes inside the cage, not supplied, so you can pick a filament bulb to suit the industrial style or a plainer LED if you would rather. It is a Class I fitting and needs an earth connection, and being hardwired we would always suggest a qualified electrician does the fitting. Dimming is possible but depends entirely on fitting a dimmable bulb.

Where It Works Best

As a compact single light it works well used in pairs or short runs, over a kitchen table, along a hallway, or as a reading light beside a bed, rather than as the only light source in a large room. The frame, light count and fixing are identical across every Mixon finish, so this SKU differs from its siblings only in that deep bronze tone, which makes it the natural choice for darker, more industrial schemes.

A Company Built on Glasswork

Quoizel built a big part of its early reputation on Tiffany style stained glass, a specialism that started on table lamps and eventually spread into chandeliers, pendants and wall fittings across the range. The Mixon sits at the other end of that history, with no glass at all, just an open steel cage, but it comes from the same company that spent decades perfecting coloured glasswork, and that range from ornate to stripped back is very much part of how Quoizel still designs today.
