How It Works

This is a semi flush ceiling fitting, so the cage sits tight against the ceiling rather than dropping down on a chain or rod. It takes a single E27 lamp, which is not supplied, and the open wire cage is built to show off a longer filament style bulb rather than hide a standard pearl one. Wiring is Class I, which means it needs a proper earth connection, and because it fixes straight to the ceiling we would always recommend a qualified electrician for the installation. Dimming works, but only if you fit dimmable bulbs behind the cage, standard non dimmable lamps will not respond to a dimmer switch.

What bulb does the Mixon take? A single E27 screw fitting lamp. We would suggest an Edison style filament bulb, since the cage is designed to show it off, but any E27 LED will fit. The bulb itself is not included.

Can I dim it? Yes, as long as the bulb you fit is dimmable and it is wired to a compatible dimmer switch. A standard non dimmable LED will not dim, whatever switch you use.

Does it need an electrician? As a hardwired, Class I ceiling fitting, yes, we would always recommend a qualified electrician handles the installation and earth connection.
