The dome on Mantle is not frosted or sandblasted, the ribbed pattern is pressed into the glass itself, similar to the prismatic glass historically used to spread light evenly without a harsh glare. Here it sits under a bright polished nickel frame and ceiling plate, giving a cleaner, more contemporary look than the darker finishes in the same range.

Polished Nickel, One of Three Finishes

This is the polished nickel version, a genuine shine rather than a brushed or satin texture, which pairs naturally with chrome taps, handles and appliances. The same dome shape and pattern is also available in Palladian bronze, a warm dark bronze, and weathered brass, a softer antique gold. Because the glass, size and bulb count stay the same across all three, the choice comes down to which metal reads best against your existing fittings.

How It Works

Two E27 bulbs sit inside the dome, wired through a central stem with three curved nickel arms holding the shade close against the ceiling. No bulbs are included, so pick your own, and fit dimmable bulbs if you want to dim the light and already have a suitable switch. This is a Class I fitting, which means it must be earthed, and being hardwired it should be fitted by a qualified electrician. The dome is held onto the frame with small screws around the rim, so allow for a short final fitting step when it arrives.

At 24.6cm high and 32.7cm across, this stays compact enough for kitchens and hallways with average ceiling heights, without the drop of a pendant.
