A Half Moon Of Colour On The Wall
The Kami wall light sits flat against the wall and sends its glow upward through a fan shaped panel of genuine leaded glass.
One Finish, Read In The Glass
Only available in this Vintage Bronze finish, the interest here again comes from the glass rather than a choice of metal tone. The fan shaped shade carries a central flower motif in deep plum and rust tones with green leaf glass either side, set above a plainer lower band of pale honey and grey stained glass. Small red glass jewels mark the centre of each flower. The dark bronze trim around the edge of the glass and the wall plate behind it are finished to match, so the fitting sits close and flat to the wall rather than projecting on a visible arm.
How It Works
Two E14 lamps power this fitting, chosen because they are smaller candle style bulbs suited to a compact wall light, and bulbs are not supplied. It is Class I, requiring an earth connection, and will dim only if paired with dimmable E14 bulbs. The shade measures 36.8cm wide, 17.8cm high and projects 14cm from the wall, and at 1.9kg it is the lightest fitting in the Kami range. This is a hardwired wall light and should be fitted by a qualified electrician.
Where It Works Best
Because it throws light up rather than down or out, this suits a hallway, landing or living room wall where you want ambient wash rather than task light, and it works equally well in a kitchen, bedroom or dining room. At 14cm deep it sits closer to the wall than most Kami pieces since there is no dome or chain hanging away from the fixing point, which makes it a better fit for narrower hallways than the table lamp or floor standing torchiere.
The Phillips Family Behind Quoizel
Quoizel has been run by the same family for generations. Ira Phillips joined the company in 1964 as Director of Merchandising and Sales and bought it outright in 1986, and it remains privately held and family run today, which is part of why the Tiffany glass techniques used on this wall light have stayed consistent across the range for so long.
