A Cooler Take On A Familiar Curve
The same long arched arm as the rest of the Jenkins family, only here it is finished in a bright, reflective Polished Nickel that throws back light rather than absorbing it. A clear crystal ball sits at the bend in the arm, and the cream linen shade keeps the whole thing from feeling too cold or clinical.
Choosing Your Finish
Polished Nickel gives the Jenkins a properly silver, almost mirrored surface, quite different from the soft matte gold of the Brushed Brass version made from the same mould. It suits rooms already running on chrome, glass or pale metal fittings, where a brass finish would stand out rather than blend in. The shade itself is the same cream linen hardback in both finishes, so the only real choice here is warm versus cool metal.
How It Works
Fit it with a single E27 bulb, not supplied, and it will dim if that bulb is itself dimmable. This is a Class I fitting, so it needs an earth connection through its plug, standard practice for a lamp built from metal components. Being a plug in table lamp, there is no hardwired installation involved, just assemble, fit a bulb and switch on.
Where It Works Best
Height is 62.2cm with a 53.3cm arm reach and 33cm base depth, so give it a table with some clearance rather than a narrow shelf. It reads well in a living room or dining room where the metal can catch overhead light, and works equally as a bedside lamp. At 5kg it is noticeably heavier in hand than its Brushed Brass sibling at 3.2kg, thanks to the denser nickel plated components, so it sits solidly once placed.
The Phillips Family, Three Generations In
Quoizel has stayed privately held since Michael Chaikin founded it in 1930. Ira Phillips joined the business in 1964 as Director of Merchandising and Sales and bought the company outright in 1986, and it has remained family run ever since under the Phillips family. That kind of continuity tends to show up in small design decisions, like keeping a single silhouette such as the Jenkins available across two quite different finishes rather than chasing a new shape every season.

Questions People Ask
How is this different from the Brushed Brass Jenkins? Same design and dimensions, just a cooler, more reflective Polished Nickel finish instead of the warm brushed gold.
Does it need an electrician to install? No, it is a plug in table lamp, so there is no hardwired installation involved.
Will any bulb dim? Only if the bulb itself is rated as dimmable, the fitting supports dimming but does not force it.
