Warm Panels and Pierced Metalwork
Indus takes the classic six sided Tiffany silhouette and adds a band of ornate cut metal filigree around the base of the shade, so the lit glass panels above sit above a dark, patterned strip rather than running straight down to the rim. The glass itself is a warm honey amber throughout, without the jewel colours some Quoizel Tiffany lamps use, which gives it a plainer, more architectural character.
Vintage Bronze, and Only Vintage Bronze
This listing is offered in one finish, Vintage Bronze, covering both the cast metal shade cap and the three legged base beneath. It is a deep, slightly matte bronze rather than a bright or polished one, and the tone stays consistent across the filigree banding and the legs, so nothing on the lamp looks mismatched once it is assembled.
How It Works
Two E27 bulbs are needed and are not included. Twin pull chains hang beneath the shade for independent switching of the two lamps. It will dim if you fit dimmable bulbs and run it from a compatible dimmer switch, though there is no dimmer built into the lamp itself. Wiring is Class I, so an earthed supply is required, and it carries a 2 year guarantee.
Where It Works Best
At 58.4cm tall it is a genuinely tall table lamp, better suited to a console table, sideboard or a wide desk than a narrow bedside table. Quoizel positions it for living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways. Compared with a smaller two light Tiffany lamp on a compact base, Indus has a taller profile and a wider, hexagonal shade, so give it more clearance above and around it than you would a lower, rounder design.
From Oil Lamps to Art Glass
Quoizel's history starts in 1930, when Michael Chaikin founded the company in Manhattan making oil burning hurricane lamps rather than anything wired for electricity. As homes across America were wired up, the range moved with them, into chandeliers, pendants and the hardwired table and floor lamps that make up much of the catalogue today. Ira Phillips joined the business in 1964 and bought it outright in 1986, and it has stayed family owned since, now run from a purpose built facility outside Charleston, South Carolina.

Questions People Ask
Is this the same shade shape as India? No. Indus has a six sided, wider shade with a pierced metal band, while India uses a plain pyramid shade with jewel accents. They are different designs, not variants of the same lamp.
What bulbs do I need? Two E27 bulbs, not supplied. Dimmable LED bulbs will let you dim the lamp if it is plugged into a dimmer switch.
Does it need professional installation? No, it is a plug in table lamp, so there is no hardwired wiring involved. Just fit the bulbs and plug it in.
