This is the smaller of the two clear glass Griffin fittings, close enough to the ceiling for a modest room, with the same bubbled glass and curved arms as its bigger sibling, just built to a tighter footprint.

Reading The Finish

Palladian Bronze covers the main frame and arms here, a dark, slightly matte tone, and weathered brass picks out the lamp holders, the centre stem and the ball finial beneath the shade. In the photographs the two metals sit close together at the centre of the fitting, so the brass reads as a deliberate accent rather than a full second finish.

How It Works

Three E27 bulbs sit beneath the seeded glass bowl, arranged around the centre stem, and they are not supplied so you can choose an Edison style filament bulb to suit the exposed look. It is Class I, so it needs a proper earth connection, and it will only dim if you fit dimmable bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer. Have it installed by a qualified electrician, since it is a hardwired ceiling fitting.

At 30.1cm high and 42.2cm across, this is the compact version of the Griffin semi flush, suited to a smaller kitchen, a landing or a room with a lower ceiling where the medium size would feel heavy overhead. The medium Griffin in the same finish stands 35.6cm high and 52.8cm across and carries four lamps instead of three, so step up to that one if the room or the table below it is larger.
