Old Factory Lamps, Cast In Bronze
Three shades in a deep, warm bronze hang from a single arched bar, each one finished with a slim brass ring at the rim that catches the light rather than reflecting it back at you. Over a kitchen island it reads more like reclaimed factory lighting than anything fresh off a production line.
Picking Your Finish
Palladian bronze sits at the darker, more weathered end of the Emery range, a matte brown body with a fine brass edge around each shade and at the bracket joints rather than an allover shine. If you want something brighter, the same three shade design also comes in a mirror like imperial silver and a softer, antique toned weathered brass, both sold separately. Underneath each shade is an opal glass diffuser, which is what keeps the light gentle rather than glaring straight down onto the worktop.
How It Works
Three E27 lamps run along the bar, and bulbs are not supplied so you will need to add your own. Fit dimmable E27 bulbs and the fitting will dim, though there is no dimmer built into the fixture itself. It is a Class I fitting, so it needs an earth connection, and being a permanent hardwired ceiling fitting it should be connected by a qualified electrician rather than fitted as a DIY job.
Where It Works Best
At over 130cm wide this is the full three light Emery island bar, built to run the length of an island or a long dining table rather than sit over a small breakfast bar. Two rise and fall chains give a wide adjustment range so you can set the drop to suit your ceiling height. If you only need one point of light, the single medium Emery pendant uses the same shade shape and bracket and is available in this same palladian bronze finish, sold separately.
The Phillips Family Behind Quoizel
Ira Phillips joined Quoizel in 1964 as Director of Merchandising and Sales, then bought the company outright in 1986. It has stayed privately owned and family run ever since, first under founder Michael Chaikin and then the Phillips family, which is part of why a design like this one, built around an old railway shade shape, still gets made with the same attention to the metal finish rather than being simplified down for cost.

Questions People Ask
Is palladian bronze a shiny finish? No, it is a matte, deep bronze body with just a slim brass trim at the shade edge and bracket joints, so it reads darker and more understated than the imperial silver option.
Can I use just one shade instead of three? Yes, the single medium Emery pendant is sold separately in this same palladian bronze finish if you only need one point of light.
Does this need an electrician to install? Yes, it is a hardwired Class I fitting with an earth connection, so it should be fitted by a qualified electrician.
