Bright Silver Shades For A Statement Island
Polished to a near mirror shine, these three railway shades throw back light and reflections rather than absorbing them, so they read as a brighter, more contemporary version of the industrial pendant shape. Hang them above an island and they become as much a piece of kitchen hardware as a light source.
Picking Your Finish
Imperial silver is the brightest of the Emery finishes, a bold chrome like shine rather than a brushed or antique effect. If you would rather something warmer, the same three shade design is also made in a deep palladian bronze and a weathered brass, both sold separately. Underneath each shade sits an opal glass diffuser, so even in this reflective finish the light itself stays soft rather than glaring.
How It Works
Three E27 lamps light the bar, and as with all Emery pendants bulbs are not supplied. Fit dimmable bulbs and the fixture will dim, though there is no dimmer built into the fitting itself. It is wired to Class I, so it needs an earth connection, and being a hardwired ceiling fitting it should go up via a qualified electrician rather than a DIY job.
Where It Works Best
At over 130cm wide this is the full three light version of the Emery island range, built to sit over an island or a long table rather than a small breakfast bar. Two rise and fall chains mean you can adjust the drop within a generous range to suit your ceiling height. If your space calls for one light rather than three, the single medium Emery pendant carries the same shade shape and is available in this same imperial silver finish.
An American Lamp Company Since 1930
Quoizel started out in Manhattan in 1930, founded by Michael Chaikin as a small lamp company. Its first products were not electric at all but oil burning hurricane lamps, made in the years before mains electric lighting reached every home. As houses electrified, the company moved into hardwired chandeliers, pendants and sconces of the kind you see here, though the emphasis on a well made metal shade has stayed consistent.

Questions People Ask
Is imperial silver a chrome finish? Yes, it is a bright, highly reflective silver tone, closer to polished chrome than to a brushed steel or pewter look.
Can I dim these lights? Only if you fit dimmable E27 bulbs. The fitting itself has no built in dimmer.
Will it fit over a standard island? It spans 133.4cm along the bar, so measure your island length first, particularly if cabinets or a hob sit close by.
