This version comes in weathered brass, a soft antique gold tone with a slightly aged look rather than a bright polish. The same silhouette is also available in a mirror bright imperial silver and a deep palladian bronze, so if you are matching taps or handles elsewhere in the kitchen it is worth comparing all three before you commit. Each shade sits on a curved wishbone bracket and hides an opal glass diffuser underneath, which is what softens the light rather than throwing a hard glare across the worktop.

How It Works

Three E27 lamps run along the bar, and bulbs are not supplied so bring your own. Fit dimmable bulbs and the fixture will dim, the fitting itself carries no dimmer. This is a Class I fitting, which means it needs an earth connection, and because it is a permanent hardwired fitting we would always recommend having it connected by a qualified electrician rather than doing it yourself.

Where It Works Best

Built for a kitchen island or a long dining table, this is the widest of the Emery pendants, spanning over a metre along the bar with two rise and fall chains so you can set the shades at the height that suits your ceiling. If your run is shorter, or you only want one pool of light rather than three, the single medium Emery pendant uses the same shade shape and is sold separately in each of the three finishes.

Quoizel's factory and design studio have been based near Charleston, South Carolina since 1996, when the company moved production down from New York. The move put the design team closer to the low country light and the more relaxed, coastal pace of the American South, an influence still visible in fittings like this one that borrow from old railway and factory lamps rather than anything fussier.
