A Faceted Beacon for the Front Door

Chasm takes a hexagonal, faceted shape and turns it into a sharp up and down wall light for the outside of the house. In Matte Black with a banded copper toned centre, it reads more architectural than decorative, the kind of light that looks deliberate next to a solid front door.

Choosing Your Finish

This large Chasm comes in Matte Black, with a brushed, wood grain textured band wrapped around the middle in a warm copper tone. In the photos that band is the only warm note against an otherwise dark, angular body, and it is fixed rather than a swap out option, so what you see is what arrives. Light spills upward and downward from the faceted ends at the top and bottom of the fitting.

How It Works

Chasm has integrated LED rather than replaceable lamps, two 9.5W LEDs giving a combined output of around 1800 lumens at a warm 3000K colour temperature, with a CRI above 80 for reasonably accurate colour rendering. It is not dimmable. Wiring is Class I, which needs an earth connection, and as a hardwired outdoor fitting it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where It Works Best

At 52cm tall, this is the large Chasm, built to flank a front door, gate pillar or garage where you want a taller, more commanding light. It is rated IP44, giving it solid protection against rain and splashing water in an exposed spot. The smaller Chasm in the same Matte Black finish stands 38.6cm tall and puts out around 1000 lumens rather than 1800, so it suits a narrower porch or a pair either side of a smaller door.

Can I change the bulbs later? No, the LED is integrated into the fitting rather than a replaceable lamp, so brightness and colour temperature are fixed from new.

How is this different from the medium Chasm? This large version is 52cm tall and puts out around 1800 lumens, the medium is 38.6cm tall at around 1000 lumens, both share the same Matte Black and copper banded finish.

Does it need an electrician to fit? Yes, it is a hardwired Class I fitting that needs an earthed connection, so it should be installed by a qualified electrician.
