Quintiesse Welsh Pendant Light - Matte Black

The Welsh Pendant is built from a stack of graduated metal discs that step down toward a softly glowing white glass diffuser, giving it a sculptural, almost architectural presence above a table or worktop. It reads as considered rather than showy, a fitting that earns its place as a room's focal point without shouting for attention.

The matte black finish

This version is finished in a matte black that sits over a steel disc stack, paired with the white glass diffuser at its base. The contrast between the dark, non reflective metal and the glow of the glass gives the pendant real depth, and the matte surface keeps fingerprints and glare to a minimum. It suits contemporary and industrial leaning schemes particularly well, working alongside black door and window frames, dark worktops, or brushed metal handles and taps.

How it works

The Welsh Pendant has an integrated 15W LED module built into the fitting, producing 750 lumens of warm white 3000K light, so there is no separate bulb to source or replace. It is dimmable, though this only works if it is wired to a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. The drop is adjustable between 75cm and 255.3cm, letting you set the exact hanging height at installation. It is rated Class II, meaning it is double insulated and does not require an earthed supply. Fixings and cable are included; a compatible dimmer switch, if wanted, is not.

Where it works best

At 46cm in diameter, this is a good scale for a dining table, a kitchen island, or a hallway console rather than a vast open plan space. Its wide adjustable drop range makes it a genuinely useful option for rooms with higher ceilings or for stairwells and landings, where you can pull the fitting down to a sensible viewing height rather than leaving it stranded near the ceiling. It also works well as a bedside or bedroom pendant, and its self contained LED module means there is no glare from an exposed bulb to manage.
