Quintiesse Torche 2 Light Wall Light - Champagne Bronze

Torche is a two light wall sconce built around a simple idea done well, a steel body with fine vertical ribbing that gives an otherwise plain shape some texture and depth as the light plays across it. In champagne bronze, that ribbing takes on a warm, slightly antique glow rather than a hard metallic shine, which is why this version tends to suit rooms built around warmer tones and softer, more traditional detailing.

Champagne bronze finish

The finish sits between brass and bronze, warm enough to complement wood panelling, cream tiling or brushed brass hardware, but muted enough that it does not compete with them. It is a good match for a period bathroom or a hallway with warmer lighting elsewhere, and reads as more traditional in character than the brand's cooler finishes on the same design.

How it works

The fitting is designed for 2 x E27 bulbs up to 60W each, sold separately so you can pick the colour temperature that suits the space. Dimming is possible but depends entirely on fitting dimmable bulbs, a standard bulb will not dim regardless of the circuit. Electrically it is Class I, which means it must be connected to an earthed supply and fitted by a qualified electrician. It also carries an IP44 rating, protecting it against water splashed from any direction, which is what makes it suitable for use in a bathroom.

Where it works best

Torche measures 42cm in height, 12.7cm wide and projects 10.2cm from the wall, a slim enough profile to sit either side of a mirror or above a basin without eating into the room. Because it is rated for splashing water, it also suits ensuites and family bathrooms where a warmer finish feels more at home than a cool metallic one, and the same compact shape works well as a pair either side of a hallway mirror or bedroom headboard.
