Quintiesse Samara Table Lamp - Clear

Samara plays with light in two directions at once. Its clear, subtly textured glass base and its softly gathered faux silk shade each have their own switch position on a 4 way control, so you can let the glass glow gently at the base while the shade stays dark, or bring both to life together. Set on a slender steel column finished in polished nickel, it is a lamp built for flexibility as much as looks.

This version pairs the neutral, softly textured clear glass base with a hand made faux silk shade in a matching neutral tone, so the whole piece reads as one calm, light filled column rather than two competing materials. The polished nickel fittings add a cool metallic edge that keeps the look current rather than traditional, and the neutral palette means it will slot into almost any existing scheme without fighting for attention.

How it works

Samara takes a single E27 LED bulb, which is not supplied, and its 4 way switch lets you run the shade and the glass base as independent light sources, so you can choose ambient glow, task light, or both. Dimming only works if you fit a dimmable LED bulb; a standard non dimmable bulb will simply switch on and off. This is a Class I fitting, which means it needs an earthed supply, and any wiring work should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

At 71.5cm tall and weighing 6kg, this is a proper bedside or console lamp rather than a delicate accent piece, it has enough height to sit comfortably on a taller chest of drawers or side table without disappearing. Its neutral finish and independent light sources make it equally at home as a reading lamp beside the bed, a softening glow in a living room corner, or a welcoming light on a hallway console table.
