Quintiesse Porter Single Large Wall Lantern - Aged Zinc

The Porter Large wall lantern is the biggest of the family, and it wears that scale well. Rivet detailing along its edges, a boxy glazed lantern shape and a sturdy hanger loop at the top give it a Modern Farmhouse silhouette with an Industrial edge, the kind of fitting that anchors an entrance rather than just lighting it.

The Aged Zinc finish

The body is aluminium with clear glass panels, finished in Aged Zinc. The finish has the slightly weathered, mottled grey character of old zinc guttering or flashing, which settles nicely against exposed brick, painted render, dark timber cladding or stone. It reads as characterful rather than brand new, which suits period and farmhouse style properties particularly well.

How it works

Porter Large takes 1 x E27 LED bulb, which is not supplied. It will dim if dimmable bulbs are fitted, but not otherwise. The fitting mounts directly to the wall on a fixed backplate rather than a hinged bracket, so allow for its 21cm projection when planning clearance around doors or gates. Only the lantern itself is included; you will need to source a suitable E27 bulb separately.

Where it works best

At 56.4cm tall, this is the size to reach for either side of a substantial front door, at the entrance to a driveway, or flanking a garage. Its 4.4kg weight is straightforward for most solid masonry walls with standard fixings. Because it carries an IP44 rating, it is built for exterior use and copes well with rain and damp, making it a natural fit for porches, porticos and covered walkways as well as fully exposed walls.
