Quintiesse Palmetto 1 Light Pendant - Polished Brass

The Palmetto pendant borrows its silhouette from vintage, industrial age lighting and brings it firmly into a modern kitchen or dining space. A softly glowing opal glass shade sits inside a steel frame finished in polished brass, and the fitting converts easily between a hanging pendant and a low, semi flush mount, so it earns its place in rooms with generous ceiling heights and more modest ones alike.

The Polished Brass finish

This variant is finished in a bright, reflective polished brass that catches the light rather than absorbing it, giving the fitting a crisp, jewellery like presence over an island or table. It sits well against warm wood cabinetry, black ironmongery or brass tapware, and reads as classic rather than trend led, so it should stay at home in a kitchen for years after the finish first goes up. The glossy opal glass shade softens the bulb's glow to a gentle, even light rather than a hard point source.

How it works

Each Palmetto pendant takes a single 60W E27 bulb, which is not supplied, so you will need to choose your own lamp to suit the mood you want. Dimming is possible, but only if you fit dimmable bulbs, standard bulbs will not dim even on a dimmer circuit. The fitting is duo mount, meaning it can hang as a standard pendant or be fitted as a semi flush ceiling light for rooms where headroom is tight, and the rod allows the drop to be adjusted between roughly 44.8cm and 151.4cm to suit your ceiling. This is a Class I fitting, so it must be connected to an earthed supply and fitted by a qualified electrician.

With a height of 29.5cm and a depth of 36.8cm, the Palmetto sits comfortably as a single drop over a breakfast bar, kitchen island or small dining table, and the adjustable drop range means it can be set high over a table for group dining or brought lower for more focused task lighting over a worktop. Its polished brass finish and clean lines make it equally at home in a kitchen, dining room or hallway where you want a fitting with genuine character rather than a plain downlight.
