Quintiesse Nantucket Single Medium Chain Lantern - Aged Brass

Suspended from a chain rather than fixed to a wall, the Nantucket Single Medium Chain Lantern brings the look of an old New England ship's lantern to a porch ceiling or covered outdoor walkway. Clear seeded glass panels let the light spill out in every direction, while the boxy silhouette and glazing bars give it that unmistakable nautical character.

Aged Brass finish

The lantern is built from solid brass and finished in Aged Brass, a warm, slightly weathered tone that sits somewhere between antique gold and bronze. It's a finish that ages gracefully outdoors and works well against painted clapboard, dark render, or exposed brick, anywhere a more traditional, lived in look is wanted rather than a sharp modern edge.

How it works

It takes a single E27 bulb (not supplied), and dims only if a dimmable E27 bulb is fitted. The chain suspension has an adjustable drop of between 48.3cm and 205.1cm, so it can be set close to the ceiling or dropped much lower depending on the height of your porch or entrance. As an outdoor fitting it carries an IP44 rating, suitable for covered or sheltered outdoor spots that see rain blowing in but aren't in constant direct exposure.

Where it works best

At 3kg it's light enough to hang from most standard outdoor ceiling roses without needing special reinforcement, and the long drop range makes it a good fit for porches with higher ceilings, covered verandas, or entranceways where you want the lantern to hang at eye level rather than flush to the ceiling.
