Quintiesse Milne Single Table Lamp - Grey -Polished Nickel

The Milne table lamp pairs a mouth blown clear glass base with Polished Nickel metalwork and a hand crafted Fog grey textured satin shade, giving it a softer, more tactile presence than a typical metal or ceramic lamp. A built in 4 way switch lets you light the base and shade together or separately, so the same lamp can throw a soft ambient glow or a brighter reading light depending on the moment.

The glass base is blown rather than moulded, which means every Milne carries small, natural variations in the glass that catch the light differently as you move around the room. This sits against Polished Nickel fittings for a cool, contemporary finish, while the Fog grey textured satin shade is finished by hand in the UK and adds a warmer, fabric like texture on top. Together they work well against pale walls, natural wood furniture, or alongside other nickel and glass pieces in the room.

How it works

Milne takes a single E27 bulb, which is not supplied, so you can choose the colour temperature and brightness that suits the room. It is dimmable, but only if you fit dimmable E27 bulbs. The 4 way switch controls the base and shade independently for flexible lighting levels. This is a Class I fitting, so it needs to be wired to an earthed supply, and should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

At 64.3cm high with a 41cm depth, Milne has enough presence to sit on a sideboard or console table without disappearing, while still working comfortably on a bedside table in a larger bedroom. It suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways equally well, either as a single statement lamp or as a pair flanking a bed or sofa.
