Quintiesse Meridian 9 Light Pendant - Distressed Gold & Smoked Glass

The Quintiesse Meridian 9 Light Pendant is the larger, three tier take on the Meridian design, a cascade of dark textured glass discs held in a distressed gold frame that steps up in height rather than out in width. With 9 lights hidden among the discs, it is built to be the centrepiece of a room with real ceiling height, glittering rather than glowing.

Distressed gold and smoked glass

Each disc is fixed in place with a round gold plate, and Quintiesse describes the distressed gold finish across the frame as hand applied, so no two fixtures wear it in quite the same way. The dark grey textured glass reads almost black until it is lit, at which point it shifts to a warm pale grey, and the layered tiers catch light differently depending on where you stand. It pairs naturally with warm metals, dark paint colours, and traditional or transitional interiors that can take a large, tiered fixture.

How it works

This chandelier style pendant runs on 9 x 40W E14 bulbs, which are not included. It dims if you fit dimmable bulbs, though standard bulbs will not dim. It is a Class I fitting, so it needs an earthed electrical supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician. It comes with an adjustable length chain, so the whole three tier structure can be raised or lowered to suit the room.

Where it works best

At 120.7cm tall with a drop that adjusts between 131.8cm and 187.3cm, this is a fixture for rooms with generous ceiling height: entrance halls, stairwells, or living and dining rooms with high ceilings. Because the minimum drop alone is over a metre, it is worth checking that range carefully against your ceiling height before ordering, especially in a stairwell where headroom and sightlines both matter.
