Quintiesse Lotus Single Pendant / Semi-Flush Fitting - Black

Three concentric clear glass shades nest together at the heart of Lotus, catching and layering the light in a way that gives the fitting real depth rather than a flat single glow. It can be hung as a pendant or drawn up close to the ceiling as a semi flush fitting, and this Black version gives that layered glass a graphic, contemporary frame to sit in.

Black finish

Here the frame is finished in black, a flatter, more architectural look than the brass alternative, and one that lets the clear glass do the talking. Against white ceilings and pale walls the black metal reads almost like a line drawing, while the glass softens the effect once the bulb is lit. It is a finish suited to more contemporary interiors, or anywhere you want a pendant that reads as sculptural by day and glows gently by night.

How it works

Lotus takes 1 x E27 LED bulb, not supplied, and will only dim if a dimmable bulb is fitted. The drop is adjustable from around 25.9cm up to 106.6cm, allowing the fitting to sit close to the ceiling or be lowered as a pendant depending on where it is installed. It is wired to Class I, meaning it needs an earthed supply and should be fitted by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Because the drop can be adjusted across such a wide range, this fitting suits rooms with varying ceiling heights: raised up it works as a neat semi flush light for a hallway or kitchen, and lowered it becomes a single statement pendant over a dining table or bedside. The same adjustability is useful on stairs, where getting the drop right against the flight below matters more than in a standard room. At 5.8kg it is manageable for most ceiling fixings, though it is always worth confirming the fixing point before final installation.
