Quintiesse Lasalle Single Small Wall Lantern - Western Bronze

The Lasalle collection takes classic country lantern design and gives it a more transitional edge, and this single small wall lantern is the compact end of the range, sized for spots where a bigger fitting would crowd the space. A curved hanging arm carries a simple clear glass jar, styled to look like it was lifted straight from an old carriage lamp, and left open enough to let the bulb itself do the work of setting the mood at your door.

The Western Bronze finish

The frame is cast in aluminium and finished in Western Bronze, a warm, deliberately weathered tone rather than a flat, uniform coat. Quintiesse describes many of its bronze and aged effect finishes as being achieved with hand applied patina techniques, which is what gives this one its slightly uneven, lived in character. It sits comfortably against brick, render, or painted timber, and reads as more traditional than a plain black or bright metal lantern would.

How it works

This lantern takes a single E27 bulb, which is not supplied, so you can choose a filament LED to suit the exposed glass jar design. It will dim if you fit dimmable bulbs, but not otherwise. It carries an IP44 rating, meaning it is protected against splashing water from any direction, so it is built for outdoor wall mounting rather than indoor use. There is no adjustable drop on this fitting; it is fixed directly to the wall plate.

Where it works best

At 17.8cm wide with a 20.3cm projection, this is the size to reach for when space is tight: narrow gaps beside a front door, either side of a porch, a boot room entrance, or a side gate where a large lantern would look out of proportion. Its IP44 rating means it is happy in a genuinely outdoor position, not just a sheltered porch.
