Quintiesse Ibiza Large LED Wall Light - Black Oxide

Ibiza is built around a single confident line, an oblong wall light that runs wide and low with softly rounded ends, so the shape reads as sculptural rather than strictly geometric. At its centre sits a glowing glass panel, giving the fitting the look of a light filled window set flush against the wall.

Black oxide finish

The frame is aluminium finished in a deep black oxide, giving it a matte, almost stonelike density. Against that dark surround the faux alabaster glass diffuser reads softer still, its subtle marbled texture breaking up the light rather than casting a hard beam. It is a combination that sits comfortably with dark tile, brushed black hardware or graphite stone surfaces, staying quiet and flush against the wall rather than competing with the room.

How it works

Ibiza runs on an integrated 21.5W LED light source built into the fixture itself, so there is no separate bulb to source or replace over its lifetime. It is dimmable when connected through a dimmer switch compatible with LED drivers. This is a Class I fitting, so it must be wired to an earthed electrical supply and installed by a qualified electrician. It carries an IP44 rating, which means it can cope with the humidity and occasional splashes of a bathroom, provided it is positioned outside the immediate splash zone of a bath or shower, in what UK wiring regulations classify as zones 2 and 3.

Where it works best

At 61cm wide and only 12.7cm tall, this is a horizontal fitting rather than a vertical one, which suits it to mounting above a wide vanity unit or a mirror spanning a double basin, where one elongated light does the job of two smaller ones. Its shallow 12.6cm projection also keeps it close to the wall, useful in more compact bathrooms or cloakrooms where space beside the mirror is tight.
