Quintiesse Gilda 1 Light Wall Light - Black with Heritage Brass accents

Gilda takes a familiar wall light shape, a globe on a stem, and gives it a distinctly graphic finish. A generous clear glass globe is held on a slender heritage brass stem with contrasting rivet detailing, fixed to a backplate finished in a deep, textured black reminiscent of marble. The result feels less like a functional wall light and more like a piece of jewellery for the wall, with enough presence to anchor a scheme rather than simply light it.

The black and heritage brass finish

The backplate carries a rich, textured black finish with the subtle depth of marble, set against the warm glow of the heritage brass stem and rivets. It is a deliberately high contrast pairing: dark and light, matte and metallic, that reads well against pale tiling, painted plaster, or dark panelling alike. The clear glass globe stands forward of the backplate, so the contrast between the black base and brass hardware stays visible even with the light off.

How it works

Gilda is a single light fitting, taking one 40W E14 bulb, which is not supplied. It will only dim if dimmable bulbs are fitted. This is a Class I fitting, so it needs to be wired to an earthed supply and installed by a qualified electrician rather than a simple plug in fixture. It carries an IP44 rating, meaning it is protected against splashing water from any direction.

Where it works best

At 41.4cm high with a 14cm width and a 20.3cm projection, Gilda is sized to work as a pair either side of a bathroom mirror or vanity unit, throwing light forward rather than sitting flush and flat to the wall.
