Quintiesse Flora 6 Light Chandelier - Burnished Gold

Flora moves up in scale in this six light chandelier, where six bulbs sit inside hand painted floral forms arranged in a fuller, spreading cluster rather than the single line of the larger linear version. It's a bigger, more sculptural read on the same design from the Lisa McDennon Collection, built to be the focal point of a room rather than sit quietly within it.

The burnished gold finish

The gold here has been burnished rather than polished, so the colour sits unevenly across each petal and pools into the recesses of the moulded blooms, an antique warmth rather than a bright shine. It suits a room with some formality to it, a dining room with dark wood or marble, a double height hallway, or a stairwell where the fitting will be seen from more than one angle.

How it works

Flora takes 6 x 40W E14 bulbs, which are not supplied, and will only dim if dimmable bulbs are fitted. It is a Class I fitting, so it needs an earthed electrical supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician. The drop is adjustable from 96.7cm to a generous 400.5cm, giving enough range to hang it low over a table or high through a stairwell void.

Where it works best

With a drop that stretches to over four metres, this is a strong option for stairwells, galleried landings and entrance halls with real height, as well as a dining room, kitchen, bedroom or living room where you want a single, generously scaled centrepiece rather than a run of smaller lights. Given how wide that drop range is, it's worth checking it against your own ceiling height and the clearance you want before it's installed.
