Quintiesse Fayton Small LED Wall Light - Matte Black

The Fayton Small is the more compact of the two Fayton sizes, at 35.5cm high and 9cm wide, built around the same ribbed glass and integrated LED as the Medium but scaled down for tighter spaces. It suits pairs either side of a door or mirror where a full height fitting would feel too heavy.

Matte black finish

Here the Fayton Small comes in matte black, a finish that recedes into dark schemes and lets the glow of the ribbed glass diffuser do the visual work. The aluminium and steel body takes the black finish evenly, so the fitting reads as a compact dark form punctuated by soft, textured light.

How it works

A 14W integrated LED produces 985 lumens of warm white 3000K light, with no bulb to buy or replace since the light source is built in. The fitting is dimmable, provided it's connected to a compatible dimmer switch, and runs on a Class II, double insulated circuit, so it doesn't need an earth connection. It should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

At 3.53kg and a shorter 35.5cm height, the Small size is easy to place in tighter locations such as doorway surrounds and narrower hallways, or in pairs set closer together than the Medium would allow. Quintiesse lists it as suitable for hallways, bedrooms, dining rooms, kitchens, living rooms and bathrooms. It also carries an IP44 rating, covering protection against splashing water, so it's suitable for bathroom use in zones 2 and 3, the areas away from the immediate splash zone around a bath or shower.
