Quintiesse Elan 2 Light Wall Light - Gold Leaf

Elan brings a soft up and down glow to any wall, pairing a decorative disc backplate with two curved opal glass shades that gently diffuse the light rather than casting it directly. It is a two light wall fitting from Quintiesse, designed to work equally well as a subtle accent or as a supporting layer alongside a room's main light source.

The gold leaf finish

This version of Elan is finished in a distressed gold leaf, giving the steel and resin backplate a warm, aged character rather than a flat, uniform shine. The two opal glass shades curve upward at the top, softening the light before it reaches the room and giving each shade a slightly frosted, glowing quality against the gold. It sits comfortably alongside warm metals, dark woods and richly coloured walls, and suits both traditional and more eclectic interiors.

How it works

Elan takes two G9 LED bulbs at 3W each (bulbs are not supplied). The light is dimmable, but only if dimmable G9 bulbs are fitted, so check compatibility with your dimmer switch before buying bulbs. It is Class I rated, which means it must be connected to an earthed electrical supply and fitted by a qualified electrician. The fitting itself, backplate, disc and both glass shades, is included; bulbs and installation are not.

Where it works best

At just under 42cm tall and around 12cm wide, Elan is a good fit for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways where you want a decorative wall light that adds ambience without dominating the wall. Fitted in pairs either side of a mirror, fireplace or bed, the up and down light helps balance a room without relying on a single central pendant. It carries an IP44 rating, and Quintiesse's own specification notes it as suitable for bathroom use, so it can also work well in a well ventilated bathroom or similarly humid space, provided the fitting is positioned appropriately for the room's electrical zones.
