The Eames Medium LED Wall Lantern brings a clean, contemporary silhouette to the outside of the home, its slender aluminium frame designed to sit flush against a wall or porch pillar without ever looking bulky. Integrated LED lighting means there is no visible lamp fitting to interrupt the lines, while the glass panel is shaped to soften the light into a gentle glow rather than a hard beam.
The Earth Black finish
This lantern is built from aluminium and finished in Earth Black, a deep matte tone intended to sit quietly against brick, render or timber cladding. Set into the frame is clear seeded glass, its gently rippled texture catching and scattering the light so the lantern glows evenly after dark rather than showing a single bright point.
How it works
Light comes from a single 10W integrated LED, rated at around 800 lumens in a warm 3000K white. As the LED is built into the fitting rather than supplied as a separate lamp, there is no bulb to buy or replace, though this also means the lantern is fixed at one brightness and is not dimmable.
Where it works best
At 36.6cm high, 11.4cm wide and projecting 14.5cm from the wall, this is the more compact of the two Eames wall lanterns, well suited to porches, front doors and narrower exterior walls where a larger fitting would crowd the space. It works equally well flanking a garage door or lighting a side passage, anywhere a low profile fitting is wanted rather than a large statement piece. Rated IP44, it is built to cope with the rain and damp of a typical exposed wall or porch, though it should not sit in the direct path of a hose or jet wash.
