Quintiesse Eames Large LED Wall Lantern - Earth Black

The Eames Large LED Wall Lantern takes the same clean, contemporary lines as the rest of the Eames collection and scales them up for entrances and exterior walls that call for a bit more presence. It suits newer build exteriors particularly well, spaces where a traditional lantern shape can look out of place but a bare, minimal fitting would feel cold.

The Earth Black finish

As with the rest of the range, the body is cast in aluminium and finished in a deep matte Earth Black. Set within the frame is a clear seeded glass panel, its subtle rippled texture helping spread the light from the LED across the glass rather than letting it sit as one hard point.

How it works

A single 10W integrated LED provides the light source, again rated at around 800 lumens in a warm 3000K tone. Because the LED is built into the fitting, there is no separate lamp to source or replace, but by the same token the lantern is not dimmable and runs at a fixed brightness.

Where it works best

At 41cm high, 14.6cm wide and projecting 18.1cm from the wall, this is the larger of the two Eames wall lanterns, suited to bigger entrances, wider porches or exterior walls where a smaller fitting could look lost, either side of a substantial front door or along a run of garage or utility walls, for example. Weighing 3.7kg, it's a manageable fitting for most masonry or render walls, and its IP44 rating means it's designed to handle the rain and damp of a typical UK exterior, provided it isn't in the direct path of a hose or jet wash.
