Quintiesse Chance Harbor Single Chain Lantern - Weathered Zinc

Hung from a chain rather than fixed flat to a wall, this Chance Harbor lantern is designed for covered porches, verandas and canopied entrances where a suspended light makes more sense than a wall mounted one. It carries the same historic, coastal New England character as the rest of the range, with clear ribbed glass set into a weathered aluminium frame.

Weathered Zinc finish

Finished in Weathered Zinc, the frame has a soft, mottled grey patina that looks naturally aged, and because this fitting hangs and turns gently in the air, that finish is visible from all sides rather than just the front. The clear ribbed glass diffuses the light source into a warm, textured glow rather than a single bright point.

How it works

It takes a single E27 LED bulb, not included, so you're free to choose the brightness and warmth. Fit a dimmable bulb and it will dim; a standard LED will run at a fixed level. The chain allows an adjustable drop of between 55.2cm and 211.8cm, so check that range against your ceiling height and how much clearance you want beneath it, particularly if it's going somewhere people walk underneath. Wiring is Class I, so it needs an earthed supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician.

At 45.7cm high with a 22.1cm depth before the chain, and weighing 4.3kg, this is a substantial pendant style lantern best suited to porches, entrance canopies and covered outdoor walkways with a solid ceiling or beam to hang it from. Its IP44 rating means it's built to withstand rain and general weather exposure in a sheltered outdoor spot.
