Quintiesse Blacksmith Single Wall Light - Old Black

The Blacksmith wall light takes the collection's curling ironwork and fixes it to a wall rather than a ceiling, projecting out on a short arm to throw light sideways from a front door, gate post or exterior wall. It has the same rounded, spiralling cage as the rest of the Blacksmith family, just built to sit flush against brick or render rather than hang overhead.

The old black finish

Finished in old black with charcoal and dark silver accents, the ironwork has a worked, smoke like depth rather than a single flat tone. A cylindrical opal etched glass shade sits inside the cage, softening the light so it spills out gently rather than glaring against the wall. It pairs naturally with stone, brick or painted render, and looks equally at home either side of a front door or flanking a garage.

How it works

It takes a single E27 LED bulb, not supplied, and will only dim if you fit a dimmable bulb. The fitting projects 27.1cm from the wall and is rated IP44.

Where it works best

At 3kg this is light enough to fix to most exterior walls without special reinforcement, and its 27.1cm projection makes it well suited either side of a front door, on gate posts or along a garden wall where you want a fixed, low maintenance point of light. Thanks to its IP44 rating, it's also suitable for use in bathroom zones 2 and 3, the areas outside the immediate splash zone around a bath or shower, so it can work as an interior wall light too.
