Quintiesse Axel 5 Light Semi-Flush Fitting - Black & Heritage Brass

The Axel semi flush light brings a sculptural, multi armed silhouette to rooms where a pendant would hang too low. Five lights fan out from a central body that fixes flush to the ceiling at three points, so you get a strong visual statement without losing precious headroom. This version pairs a black steel frame with heritage brass detailing, giving Axel a more graphic, contemporary edge than the all brass finish in the same range.

The main frame and articulating arms are finished in black steel, with heritage brass accents at the fixing points and light holders bringing warmth and contrast. Clear glass shades sit at the end of each arm, letting the bulb's glow read cleanly rather than through tinted glass. It's a finish that suits contemporary and industrial edged interiors, and pairs well with black or brass door furniture, taps and other hardware nearby.

How it works

Axel takes 5 x E27 LED bulbs, which are not supplied, so you can choose the warmth and brightness that suits the room. The arms articulate individually, letting you angle each light head to spread illumination exactly where it's needed rather than straight down. Dimming is possible, but only if dimmable bulbs are fitted. This is a Class I fitting, so it needs an earthed mains supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Because it fixes so close to the ceiling, Axel is a practical choice for rooms with lower ceilings or where a pendant would sit at an awkward height, including hallways, landings and smaller living rooms. Its multiple, individually angled arms also make it a good option over a kitchen table, dining table or seating area where you want directional light rather than a single central glow. At 9.8kg, it's a substantial fitting, so check your ceiling has a secure, load rated fixing point before installation.
