The smallest of the Atwater wall lanterns keeps all the character of the design in a more compact footprint, making it an easy fit for cottages, narrower porches and spots either side of a smaller front door.
The black finish
Finished in matte black, the small Atwater carries the same anti fading treatment as its larger siblings, so the colour stays consistent even with regular sun and rain exposure. The scrolled handle and frame details are scaled down but still readable up close, and the clear seeded glass gives off a soft, faceted glow after dark rather than a harsh point of light. Black suits period cottages, dark timber doors and stone porches particularly well.
How it works
A single E27 LED bulb, not supplied, sits behind the seeded glass. Fit a dimmable bulb and the fitting will dim; fit a standard one and it will only switch on and off. This is a Class I fitting, so it needs an earthed supply and should be wired up by a qualified electrician. Only the lantern is included in the box.
Where it works best
At around 35.5cm tall, this is the size to reach for on narrower porches, cottage style doorways, or anywhere a larger lantern would crowd the space, including as a matching pair flanking a smaller front door. Its IP44 rating means it's built to cope with the splashing rain a covered exterior wall will see.
