Quintiesse Atomo 1 Light Adjustable Pendant - Gold

The Atomo 1 Light Adjustable Pendant is built around a single clear glass globe, cut using Quintiesse's Crystal Pitch technique so it fractures light from the LED inside into small, faceted highlights rather than a flat glow. It's a compact pendant with an outsized amount of visual interest for its size.

The brushed gold finish

The metalwork here is finished in a warm brushed gold, a soft, low sheen metal rather than a bright polished one, which suits warmer interiors, wood tones and other brass or gold fittings nearby. The brushed texture also wears well day to day, showing fewer fingerprints than a mirror finish.

How it works

A single integrated 9W LED sits inside the globe, giving around 755 lumens of warm 3000K white light. The suspension is adjustable from roughly 30cm up to 176.5cm, so the drop can be set to suit your ceiling height once fitted. There's no bulb to buy or replace, as the LED is built into the fitting, and it's dimmable only if wired to a compatible LED dimmer switch. It's a Class II, double insulated pendant, so it doesn't need an earthed supply, though it should still be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Its compact 23.9cm height and single point of light suit it to spots where you want a focused pendant rather than a wide spread, above a bedside table, in a smaller dining nook, or as one of a pair over a kitchen island. Given the wide adjustable drop range, it also works well over a stairwell or in a room with a taller than average ceiling, just check the 30cm to 176.5cm range against your ceiling height and the clearance you want before ordering. It's been used in living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways, and at 3kg it's light enough for most standard ceiling roses.
