Quintiesse Arno Single Table Lamp - Smoke - Aged Brass

Rather than putting a bulb on show, the Arno table lamp hides its light source low in the base, letting the glow read through a tall, faceted glass obelisk instead. This version combines a smoked glass tint with an aged brass base, a pairing that leans traditional and warm rather than sleek and cool.

Smoke and aged brass

The smoked glass panels have a cut, prismatic texture that catches light unevenly across the surface, giving the lamp a faceted, almost crystal like quality even though the tint itself is a muted charcoal grey. The aged brass base and detailing carries a soft patina finish rather than a mirror shine, and works particularly well against dark wood, leather, or other aged brass and bronze pieces already in the room.

How it works

It runs from a single 9W GX53 bulb, which you'll need to source separately as it isn't supplied. Because the light sits inside the base behind the glass, there's no exposed bulb to worry about styling around. Fit a dimmable GX53 bulb if you want it to dim, standard bulbs will still work but won't dim on a compatible circuit. As a Class I fitting it needs an earthed supply, and any wiring in should be done by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

At 36.4cm high and 17.1cm deep, it's a compact enough footprint for a bedside table, but equally suited to a console in the living room, a sideboard in the dining room, or a hallway table where you want a warm, low level accent light rather than general illumination.
