Quintiesse Arno Single Table Lamp - Green - Polished Nickel

The Arno is a distinctive obelisk shaped table lamp, its faceted glass sides designed to catch and scatter light rather than show off a bare bulb. This version brings together a green tinted glass with a polished nickel base, a combination that reads brighter and cooler than the lamp's brass finished siblings.

The green glass has a cut, prismatic surface, so its colour depth shifts as you move around the lamp, from a deep bottle green in shadow to a lighter, almost jade tone where the light catches it directly. The polished nickel base and fittings give it a crisp, silvery finish that suits contemporary rooms, and pairs comfortably with chrome or nickel hardware, glass, and other cool toned metals elsewhere in the space.

How it works

A single 9W GX53 bulb, not included, sits hidden in the base, so the lamp glows through the green glass rather than showing an exposed light source. It will dim smoothly if you fit a dimmable GX53 bulb on a compatible circuit, otherwise it operates as a simple on and off light. Being a Class I fitting, it must be connected to an earthed supply, and any wiring in is best left to a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Its 36.4cm height and 17.1cm depth make it a natural fit for a bedside table where floor space is tight, but it works just as well on a living room console, dining room sideboard, or hallway table, wherever a small pool of coloured light suits the space better than an overhead fitting.
