Quintiesse Alford Place 2 Light Pedestal Lantern - Museum Black

The Alford Place 2 Light Pedestal Lantern brings the look of a traditional lamp post down to border and path height. A die cast aluminium frame, curved hanging arm and top loop give it the character of a period street lantern, while a fully sealed glass roof throws light out on every side rather than down onto one spot.

This pedestal is finished in Museum Black, a deep matte black coating over the cast aluminium body designed to resist the fading and pitting that outdoor fittings are prone to over time. The dark, understated tone sits comfortably against gravel, stone paving or planting, and works well alongside other Museum Black pieces from the Alford Place range if you're lighting a driveway or path run to match.

How it works

It takes 2 x E14 bulbs, not supplied, so you can fit LED lamps in whatever colour temperature suits the rest of your outdoor lighting. Dimming only works if dimmable bulbs are fitted. The fitting is Class I, meaning it needs an earthed electrical supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician, and its IP44 rating means it's built to cope with rain and general outdoor exposure.

Where it works best

At 51.4cm high and 25.4cm deep, this pedestal lantern suits front gardens, driveway edges and path junctions where a freestanding light makes more sense than a wall fitting. Because it stands on its own base rather than needing a wall to fix to, it's a useful option for boundary walls, gateposts or the middle of a border where there's nothing else to mount a light on.
