Muro: The Sharpest Edge in Architectural Wall Washing
Muro exists for the wall washer purists: a fitting engineered around one goal, an edge so sharp and a wash so even that the light source itself disappears. Recessed fully into the ceiling, Muro sends a uniform sheet of light from ceiling to floor along a single wall, with none of the scalloping that gives away a lesser wall washer.
Choosing Your Configuration
Muro shares Duet's driver choices: 0 to 10V dimming and DALI for integration with wider lighting controls, mains dimming for straightforward retrofits, or a non dimming driver for corridors and murals that run at a constant level. Lamp temperature is a choice between 2700K, warmer and more forgiving on traditional interiors, and 3000K, which reads slightly cleaner against contemporary finishes or artwork. IP rating runs from IP54 for standard dry ceilings up to IP65 for locations where moisture is a factor. Muro's engine range is the widest in this collection: Origin Natural for Orluna's benchmark colour accuracy, Origin Natural High Efficiency where lumens per watt matter more than the last percentage point of colour fidelity, or Origin Natural High Output where a longer wall or a higher ceiling calls for extra punch without sacrificing colour quality. The bezel finish is white (RAL 9010) as standard, with bespoke RAL colours available by request.
How It Works
Muro's optic is built around an exceptionally sharp cut off, so the light source sits invisibly within the ceiling line while the wall below receives continuous, even illumination rather than a series of overlapping pools. Because the source is hidden and the beam so tightly controlled, there is no unwanted scallop effect, the visual signature of a poorly specified wall washer. As with the rest of the range, an aluminium housing and heat sink manage heat away from the LED engine, protecting colour consistency over the long term rather than letting it fade with running hours.
Where It Works Best
Muro is at its best wherever a single wall needs to read as a continuous, glare free plane: gallery corridors, feature murals, or long hallways where the ceiling line needs to stay visually clean. It is the more discreet, single wall counterpart to Duet, which is built specifically to wash two opposing walls from one run of fittings, and it is a different tool entirely from the Vio floor washers, which throw light downward onto floors, rugs and stair treads rather than up a vertical wall plane.
Made By Orluna
Orluna's engineering culture has its roots outside architectural lighting altogether. The business was founded in 1973 by aeronautical engineers who were already using LED technology in demanding civil and military settings, long before it became standard in buildings. Everything changed in 2009 when Andrew Kilborn took the company over and refocused it on high end architectural projects, an era that produced the Quad 50 downlight and, in time, compact families such as One, Cero, Curve, Origin, Fade and Vio. Muro's obsessive attention to a single detail, the edge of the beam, is very much in that tradition.

Questions People Ask
Is Muro suitable for domestic interiors, or only commercial projects?

What is the highest output engine available for Muro?
Origin Natural High Output, for longer wall runs or higher ceilings where extra intensity is needed without giving up colour accuracy.
Does Muro come in finishes other than white?
The standard bezel finish is white (RAL 9010). Bespoke RAL colours can be arranged by contacting Orluna directly.
