Big Character, Miniature Footprint
A downlight that all but disappears into the ceiling while doing serious work below it. The Curve Mini Fixed pairs a 300lm output with one of the smallest apertures in Orluna's architectural range, so you get a proper wash of light without a proper hole in the plaster. It suits interiors where the quality of light matters far more than the presence of the fitting delivering it.
Choosing Your Configuration
This fitting is genuinely configurable, so it is worth working through each choice rather than defaulting to whatever is quickest.
- Driver: choose from 0-10V Dimming, Dali, Mains Dimming or Non-Dimming. Dali suits architectural dimming systems and scene control, Mains Dimming works with standard household dimmer switches, and Non-Dimming is the simplest route where a fixed output is all you need. The 0-10V driver is too large to pass through this fitting's cut out, so it needs to sit in the void above the ceiling.
- Engine: Origin (General Use) covers everyday applications, while Origin Natural (Highest Quality) is Orluna's premium colour rendering engine, worth specifying wherever finishes, artwork or skin tones need to look genuinely accurate rather than just bright.
- Colour temperature: 2700K reads warmer and more traditional, 3000K a touch crisper and more neutral. Judge it against whatever else is already lighting the room.
- Beam: six angles are offered, from 18° up to 35°. Tighter angles concentrate the light for a punchier, more directional effect, wider angles spread it into a softer, more ambient wash.
- IP rating: IP54 suits standard dry interiors, IP65 is rated for wetter zones such as bathrooms and covered outdoor areas.
- Bezel finish: this fitting is supplied in white (RAL 9010) with a black baffle, chosen to sit quietly in a white ceiling while controlling glare from below.
How It Works
Inside the small aperture sits an LED engine, an optical grade reflector and a die cast aluminium body that draws heat away from the LED efficiently, protecting colour consistency and helping the fitting hold its output over a long service life. The black baffle recesses into the bezel, shielding the light source from direct view at normal sightlines so the beam reads as soft and diffused rather than as a visible point of glare.
Where It Works Best
Because the head is fixed rather than aimable, the Curve Mini Fixed suits spaces that call for a predictable, symmetrical pattern of light rather than an adjustable accent: corridors, hallways, shallow ceiling voids and understated residential schemes where the ceiling itself needs to stay quiet and uncluttered. Its compact 51mm bezel also makes it a natural fit for smaller rooms and tight structural zones where a standard sized downlight would look heavy handed.
Made By Orluna
Orluna was founded in 1973 by a group of aeronautical engineers, and its earliest work put LED technology to use in civil and military applications where efficiency, longevity and mechanical reliability could not be compromised, well before LEDs found their way into architectural lighting. That engineering heritage still shows in fittings like the Curve Mini, which is built more like a precision component than a conventional domestic downlight.

Questions People Ask
What is the difference between the Curve Mini Fixed and the Curve Mini Adjustable? The Fixed version has a static head, while the Adjustable version can be tilted to direct the beam, which is more useful for accenting than for pure ambient light.
Can the Curve Mini Fixed be used in a bathroom? Yes, when specified with the IP65 option it is rated for wetter zones, though the exact zone requirements should always be checked against current wiring regulations.
Is this fitting dimmable? Yes. It can be supplied with a Dali, 0-10V or mains dimming driver depending on the control system in your building, or as Non-Dimming.
