Cloud Pendant Plate: Bridging the Gap Beautifully
Some ceilings simply are not built for recessed lighting, structural voids, service runs or uneven joists can all rule it out. Cloud Pendant Plate solves that problem elegantly, mounting to a plate that spans the gap so the fitting still achieves the clean, hovering look of the Cloud range without needing to cut into the ceiling structure itself.
Choosing your configuration
Cloud Pendant Plate shares its configuration options with the larger fittings in the range. For the driver, specify Dali where the building uses a lighting control system, 0 to 10V Dimming for architectural low voltage control, Mains Dimming to run from a standard dimmer switch, or Non-Dimming for a fixed output. Three engines are offered: Origin (General Use) for everyday lighting, Origin Natural (Highest Quality) where colour accuracy is the priority, and Origin Warm Dim (1800K to 3000K) for a warm, incandescent style dimming curve. Colour temperature can be fixed at 2700K or 3000K, or set across the 1800K to 3000K range if Warm Dim is chosen. Beam angle runs from a narrow 30° up to a broad 56°, allowing a choice between focused accent light and a wider general wash. IP54 is the rating for this fitting. Bezel and baffle are each available in Black or White (RAL 9010).
How It Works
Rather than recessing into the ceiling void itself, Cloud Pendant Plate mounts to a plate that spans the gap or structural void behind it, so it can be fitted cleanly even where the ceiling is not deep or solid enough to take a standard recessed housing. At 60mm in diameter, the fitting keeps the same pared back, seamless design language as the rest of the Cloud collection, with an aluminium body managing heat from the LED engine to protect colour consistency over the fitting's life.
Where It Works Best
Pendant Plate earns its place in the Cloud range on practicality as much as looks, specify it wherever the ceiling has a void, an awkward service zone or an uneven structure that rules out a standard recessed cut out, older properties and refurbishments are common candidates. Unlike the recessed and rose adjustable Cloud fittings, this one is fixed rather than adjustable, so it suits straightforward, direct down lighting along a corridor or across an open plan space rather than positions needing the beam aimed after fitting.
Made By Orluna
Orluna's approach to light quality goes well beyond raw brightness. Its Origin Natural LED engine, one of the choices available on Cloud Pendant Plate, uses a custom phosphor recipe that Orluna states delivers a CRI of 98 and an R9 of 99, meaning strong reds render accurately rather than looking flat, along with a TM-30 Rf figure of around 97.7 for overall colour fidelity and an Rg of around 100.4 so colours look natural rather than exaggerated. Orluna also tests its completed luminaires after optical, thermal, bezel and baffle losses at normal operating temperature, rather than simply quoting the theoretical output of the bare LED chip, which the brand says makes its published performance more representative of how the fitting behaves once installed.

Questions People Ask
When should I choose Pendant Plate over a recessed Cloud fitting?
Pendant Plate is designed for ceilings with structural voids, service runs or uneven joists that will not take a standard recessed cut out, since it mounts to a plate spanning the gap rather than recessing into it.
Is Cloud Pendant Plate adjustable?
No, it is a fixed fitting. If the beam needs aiming after installation, Cloud Rose Adjustable is a better fit.
What colour temperatures can I choose?
2700K or 3000K as fixed options, or the 1800K to 3000K Warm Dim range with the Origin Warm Dim engine.
