Miira 8 Oval takes the Miira collection's hand blown glass globes and arranges eight of them around an elongated oval ring, rather than the circular formations used elsewhere in the range. The organic, stretched shape makes it a natural fit above a long dining or conference table, where a round chandelier wouldn't sit as comfortably.
Dark bronze finish and opal glass
This version pairs a dark bronze metal ring with eight opal white glass globes. The opal glass diffuses the light evenly through the whole surface of each globe, giving a soft, gentle glow rather than sparkle, while the dark bronze finish keeps the frame understated and easy to place against most interiors.
How it works
Miira 8 Oval takes eight G9 lamps (7W each). The globes hang from a wire system that allows each one to be adjusted to a slightly different height from the ceiling, with a cable that extends up to 400cm, so the drop can be tailored to the room. It's a hardwired fixture, so it needs to be connected by a qualified electrician rather than plugged in.
Where it works best
Measuring around 109cm by 80cm, Miira 8 Oval is built for long dining tables, kitchen islands or conference tables, where its stretched shape follows the line of the table below. It's rated IP20, so it's intended for dry indoor spaces rather than bathrooms or outdoor areas.
About Nuura
Miira 8 Oval is one of the more sculptural shapes in the Miira range, built on the same hand blown glass and slender metal framework used across the collection. Nuura was founded in Copenhagen in 2017 by Sofie Refer, Nadia Lassen and Peter Østerberg.
