Nuura Miira 8 Light Oval Chandelier - Brass & Opal Glass

Miira 8 Oval takes the same idea as Nuura's circular chandeliers and stretches it into an elongated ring, so the eight glass globes trace an oval rather than a perfect circle. It suits long tables particularly well, since the shape of the fitting echoes the shape of the surface underneath it.

Brass finish and opal glass

This version is built on a brass coloured anodized aluminium frame, hung with eight opal white glass globes. The opal glass gives a soft, even glow across the whole globe rather than a sharp highlight, so the light reads as gentle and consistent, while the brass frame adds a warm metallic edge around each globe.

How it works

Miira 8 Oval takes eight G9 lamps (7W each). The oval frame measures around 80cm wide by 109cm long, the fitting stands about 24.5cm high, and it hangs from a ceiling plate roughly 14.8cm across. The suspension cable can be adjusted up to 400cm, so the drop can be set to suit the ceiling height. It is a hardwired fitting, so it needs to be connected by a qualified electrician rather than plugged in.

Where it works best

Its elongated shape makes Miira 8 Oval especially suited to long or rectangular dining tables, where it can run the length of the table rather than sit as a single point of light. It also works well in larger kitchens above an island, or in a meeting room where an even spread of light matters more than a single dramatic pendant.

Nuura is a Danish lighting brand established in Copenhagen in 2017 by Sofie Refer, Nadia Lassen and Peter Østerberg. The Oval chandeliers were developed alongside the round Circular pieces, offering the same hand blown glass and metal ring construction stretched into a shape built specifically for longer tables.
