Nuura Liila 1 Light Small IP44 Wall/Flush Light - Light Silver & Optic Clear Glass

Liila 1 Small is the smallest fitting in Nuura's Liila collection, built around a single hand blown glass sphere set just proud of a slim, circular metal backplate. It's a simple, restrained shape, sized so it can slot into corners and awkward spots where a larger wall or ceiling light wouldn't sit comfortably.

Light Silver and optic clear glass

Here a cool, brushed Light Silver backplate is paired with optic clear glass, its subtly faceted surface letting the light source show through with a bit of sparkle. Against silver hardware, chrome fittings or a more contemporary, monochrome scheme, this combination feels crisp and understated rather than warm and golden.

How it works

It takes a single G9 lamp, rated up to 7W, and can be fitted as either a wall light or a flush ceiling light depending on the location. It's a hardwired fixture, so it needs to be connected by a qualified electrician rather than plugged in. Being IP44 rated, it's also suitable for installation in a bathroom, provided it's positioned in a zone that allows IP44 fittings, as covered in our guide, Bathroom Lighting Zones and IP Ratings Explained: The Simple UK Guide. The fitting is around 14cm in diameter and 14.9cm deep.

Where it works best

Because it takes up so little space, Liila 1 Small suits hallways, landings, either side of a bathroom mirror or medicine cabinet, or repeated in a row along a corridor. It's a good option anywhere you want a touch of ambient light without the visual weight of a full sized fitting.

About Nuura

Nuura traces its roots to Copenhagen in 2017, where designer Sofie Refer and her co-founders set out to reinterpret decorative lighting through mouth blown glass. The Liila range, and Liila 1 Small in particular, shows how far that idea can be scaled down without losing its character.
