Nuura Liila 1 Light Outdoor Wall/Flush Light - Black & Opal Glass

Liila 1 Outdoor takes the single sphere design of the indoor Liila 1 and adapts it for exterior use, a circular metal backplate holding a hand blown glass globe just off the wall or porch ceiling. It keeps the same quiet, floating look as the indoor version, just built to withstand the weather.

Black finish and opal glass

This version pairs a black metal backplate with an opal white glass sphere. The opal glass diffuses light evenly across the whole globe, giving a soft, even glow rather than a sharp point of brightness, while the black finish keeps the fitting understated against brick, render or painted facades alike. It's a classic combination that suits most architectural styles rather than pulling attention to itself.

How it works

Liila 1 Outdoor takes a single G9 lamp (7W) and can be installed as a wall light or a flush light on a porch ceiling. It's hardwired, so it needs to be connected by a qualified electrician. It measures around Ø16.5cm and projects about 17cm from the surface, on a backplate roughly 10.5cm across. It's rated IP54, which exceeds the IP44 typically required for bathroom zones, and is built to cope with genuine outdoor weather.

Where it works best

It suits front doors, porches and covered entrances, either mounted on the wall beside the door or flush against a porch ceiling above it. With an IP54 rating, it's built for exterior use and copes well with rain and damp conditions, making it suitable for covered or open exterior positions alike.

Nuura was founded in Copenhagen in 2017 by Sofie Refer, Nadia Lassen and Peter Østerberg, and the Liila collection remains one of its simplest ideas, a single glass sphere, reworked here to survive life outdoors.
