Nuura Blossi Floor Lamp - Black & Opal Glass

Blossi Floor brings the softly glowing character of the smaller Blossi lamps up to full floor standing height. A slender metal stem rises just over a metre to a generous mouth blown glass shade, where an integrated LED sends its light out through the glass rather than glaring into the room.

Here the stem and base are finished in matte black metal, paired with an opal white glass shade. The opal glass is denser than clear glass, so the LED disc disappears from view and what you see instead is an even, softly glowing sphere, with the black metal giving a graphic, more contemporary silhouette than the gold version.

How it works

Blossi Floor uses a low voltage, integrated LED rated at 6W, built into a glass disc that sends light sideways and downward through the mouth blown glass. The cable, up to 230cm long, has an inline dimmer built in and comes fitted with both EU and UK plugs. It's rated IP20, designed for dry indoor spaces only.

Where it works best

Standing around 120cm tall, this black and opal version suits a reading corner, the side of a sofa, or a hallway where you want a warm pool of light rather than bright overhead illumination, and its dark finish sits particularly well against light walls or pale flooring. As a plug in lamp, it just needs a nearby socket.

About Nuura

Nuura was founded in Copenhagen in 2017 by designer Sofie Refer, together with Nadia Lassen and Peter Østerberg. Blossi is one of Sofie Refer's own designs, and Nuura describes the rounded glass form as inspired by sunlight filtering through autumn leaves.
